TOMS RIVER, N.J. − A deer paid a visit to an elementary school in New Jersey on Nov. 25, just in time for the holidays.
A man walking his dog about 10 p.m. saw the young deer jump and smash through a window of Cedar Grove Elementary School in Toms River, roughly 70 miles east of Philadelphia. Police encountered the young deer running amok but were able to lead it to safety.
For their efforts, the Toms River Police Department got a Christmas card-like video out of the call.
The department had some yuletide fun with the video, using Kelly Clarkson's version of the Chuck Berry classic "Run Rudolph Run" over the shouts of Toms River police officers.
The video includes a scene that looks like it was choreographed for comic effect. The deer noses its way into a room, runs across a long desk or the top of filing cabinets and bumps into what looks like hanging art work, one at a time as an officer follows.

The brief video ends with the deer hightailing it away from the school. Police said the deer was in the school only a brief time.
School security staff boarded up the window and the custodial staff cleaned after the deer's frenzied escape.
